Temples of Singapore Kuan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple
The Kuan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple was a border-ine case for us in terms of including them on these web pages. No photography is allowed inside the temple, however it was still a picturesque temple from the outside. The temple is dedicated to Kuan Yin, also Kuan Im or Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. It is a very busy temple with lots and lots of worshippers inside. Some people don't even have time to go inside and just do a quick gesture outside it's walls. As busy as the temple is the market on the street, selling flowers and incense sticks. Up and down the street are shops selling statues of gods and other items and right next to the temple is the Indian Sri Krishnan Temple where you are even greeted with the words "no photo" even if you don't even have a camera. I guess this means that any western looking person is assumed not to be a worshipper but (only) a tourist. What a great chance to miss... .............
