Temples of Singapore Mahaprajna Buddhist Society
Just across from the Amitabha Buddhist Society in Geylang is the modern building of The Mahaprajna Buddhist Society. Mahaprajna meaning Great Wisdom, shows the Society's efforts on the cuntivation of wisdom. According to the Society's information leaflet they "aspire to actualise the ideals of Humanistic Buddhism through the provision of Buddhist education, nurturing talents in the Sangha and upgrading the standard of lay Buddhists". The Society's building includes large presentation-style rooms as well as smaller classrooms, library and other teaching facilities. A beautiful Burmese-style Buddha image along with an image of Guan Yin is located in their large meditation room. ...........
