Temples of Singapore Pu Ji Si Buddhist Research Center
The Pu Ji Si Buddhist Research Center is also located in Geylang, in Eastern Singapore. The modern 5 story building is very well maintained. When I visited I was guided around. It looked a bit like the staff doesn't want people wandering around the building. Most impressive hall was the Hall of the Medicine Buddha, also called Inner Dipa Hall or The Three Great Saints Main Prayer Hall. A white Burmese-style Buddha made of jade was at the center of the altar. Behind it are the Three Saints, with Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. Since the hall is an atrium, the light comes through the roof. A friendly member of the Center then brought me up to the rooftop meditation garden containing statues of the eight Great Compassion Bodhisattvas. As the name says, the Center is dedicated to Buddhist research. ......
